Madara Spicy Miso

The best ramen - a visit to Madara Ramen in Katowice can be summed up in these two words. The small place, located at Moniuszki 12 Street, specializes in the title dishes based on broth, noodles and additional ingredients. The service is efficient in processing orders and has itself suggested a menu in English for a non-Polish speaker. The waiting time for the main course is about 10 minutes which is very good.

In keeping with our idea, we opted for the hottest item on the menu the Madara Spicy Miso marked by the restaurant with two peppers. The creamy broth of homestead chicken was enriched with Hokkaido miso paste, hot peppers and buckwheat honey. In addition to the locally made alkaline noodles that are the base of the ramen, you’ll find marinated ground beef, chashu bacon, pork in dashi, nitamago egg (served whole), pak choi, chives, red onion jam and chili oil. The whole thing blends very well and does not disappoint with its spiciness.

After quite a bit of deliberation, we came to a compromise, awarding a well-deserved three peppers on our five-point spiciness scale. Companions who shy away from spicy dishes are sure to find something on the menu and will also enjoy their visit. Tasting kraft beers imported straight from Japan 🇯🇵 can be an interesting complement to the meal.

We give 🌶🌶🌶/5
